Railings - Horní Bečva

The municipality of Horní Bečva increased the safety and sustainability of the bridge railing of the local cycle path.

Functionality and sustainability

The Bečvanská cycle path is now safer thanks to metal railings. This cycle path is located in the immediate vicinity of the road, where the surface is treated with aggressive salts in winter, which caused irreversible damage to the wooden railing. The municipality opted for a sustainable metal solution and did the right thing. They currently have a maintenance free safety feature. The footbridge had to be fabricated and fitted on site for a precise exit in complicated radii.

Design, bending, assembly welding.

Based on the idea of the municipality, a draft solution was prepared. The railing system was reamed and drilled to use the existing anchor points from the dismantled railing and to follow the base of the footbridge.

Construction and galvanizing.

The design of the structure was based on aesthetic appearance. When hot-dip galvanizing closed profiles, sprue holes must be drilled to produce the finish even inside the profiles.

Rererence from the customer.

"On the newly reconstructed bridge of the cycle path over the Bečva River in the village of Horní Bečva it was necessary to replace the wooden railing. In order to maintain continuity and also for the sake of greater sustainability, a solution made of metal profiles with a hot-dip zinc coating was proposed. The relatively complicated installation was professionally carried out by STINN on time and to the full satisfaction of the investor. The railing meets both practical and design requirements and has received positive feedback not only from cyclists." - Rudolf Bernát, Mayor of the municipality
